Meet Anna-Marie Fumerton Turney, DDS
Finding a Creative Career
“My father used to tell me I could be anything I wanted to be and encouraged me to do the most I could with my life. My interest in dentistry started in grade nine. I liked having a healthy smile and enjoyed my visits to my dentist. I’ve always been artistic and enjoyed crafts and sewing. Dentistry strikes a great balance between creativity and medicine, so it was a perfect fit.”
An Education in Dentistry
Dr. Turney started her education in dentistry by attending a dental assisting program in London, Ontario. It affirmed to her that she wanted to be a dentist, so she completed her undergraduate education at Queen’s University. From there, she went on to the University of Toronto for her dental education. Dr. Turney graduated in 1986 and started work in Ottawa for the Canadian Armed Forces. After four years of service, she returned to her hometown of Kingston to start her own practice.

Continuing to Learn
Dr. Turney continues her education regularly through the Seattle Study Group and the Limestone City Dental Study Club (which is a division of the international Seattle Study Group). She is also a member of the Ontario Dental Association and attends their annual spring meetings. Dr. Turney is also a member of:
