Meet Paul Lefebvre, RN, DMD

Making a Difference

Dr. Lefebvre (Le-fave) became a nurse before going into dentistry. While working as a nurse in emergency and acute care, he realized he wanted to go back to school to learn more.

Dr. L knew he wanted to stay in the health care field, and dentistry allowed him to take care of his patients right away.

I wanted to make a difference looking after people. I love seeing their satisfaction when they feel good about their smile.”

A Comprehensive Education

Dr. L was born in Whitehorse, Yukon and was raised in Kingston. He received his registered nurse qualification from St. Lawrence College. After deciding to become a dentist, Dr. L moved away to attend the University of Manitoba, where his wife is from.

He enjoyed the small class size offered at the school. While there, Dr. L received guidance from his mentor, Dr. Vander Velden in Peterborough, who helped him learn to expect the intensity of the workload.

Professional Qualifications and Associations

Dr. L graduated from dental school in 1999. He is currently licensed as a general dentist with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Dr. L has received training in implant surgery and the Invisalign® orthodontic system. He is an active member of:

  • The Academy of General Dentistry
  • The Canadian Dental Association
  • The International Team for Implantology
  • The Kingston District Dental Society
  • The Limestone City Dental Study Club
  • The Ontario Dental Association

In addition, Dr. L is a past president of the Kingston and District Dental Society. He has guest lectured at Queen’s University Faculty of Medicine and is the team dentist for the Kingston Voyageurs ice hockey team.

General and Complex Dentistry Cases Welcome

Dr. L provides family and general dentistry. He enjoys seeing families come in when their children are young, watching them as they grow up and looking after their oral health. He is further fulfilled by completing complex dentistry procedures as well, such as Invisalign® and dental implant surgery.

Living a Busy Life

Dr. Lafavorite (as some of his patients call him), has four teenage children, who have gotten him involved in coaching soccer and basketball for many years. He is an avid curler in the winter months at the Royal Kingston Curling Club. He enjoys the outdoors and golfs in the summer, mountain bikes and rides an ATV. Dr. L also gets out on the water to sail and fish. He gardens, plays squash and doesn’t slow down much!
